A hilltop hideaway facing the Mokes
Koohoo Place is perched near the very top of Lanikai, just below the ridge where the Pillbox hike begins. From up here the whole Kailua coastline spreads out below, with the twin Mokulua Islands and deep blue water beyond the rooftops. Plumeria and tropical plantings ring the big wraparound lanai, which catches the sunrise each morning and makes an easy place to eat outdoors or have friends over.
Downstairs you will find the kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a window-lined dining nook, the living room, a laundry room, a guest room set up with a pair of extra-long twins and a full bath with a clawfoot tub. The entire upper floor is a 400 sq ft primary suite with a king bed, wet bar, walk-in closet and a desk that faces the ocean, so working from home comes with a view. Its remodeled bath pairs a walk-in shower and double sinks with a copper-clad soaking tub set beneath a picture window. Lanikai Beach is roughly a half-mile stroll downhill, and Kailua Town is about 2 miles away.
