So nice to come “home” to the peace of the Tree House

Mahalo for letting us rent your special “Tree House.” We love and appreciate all the history behind this home. What made it extra special was both of you, and also meeting your daughter and your Mama. Such blessings. (We also love your cute little dogs!)

Our week was full of time with ʻohana, and each evening it was so nice to come “home” to the peace of the Tree House. I loved my daily walks, and Gary loved having so much free time to read and relax.

All the extra touches you included in your vacation rental are appreciated: the beach towels, live plants, the fresh air, books, lights on the stairs, the fans… the list goes on and on. Thank you!

Let us know if you ever make it over to our area. Much aloha.

A magical, unforgettable stay

Thank you so much for providing such an amazing space while we stayed in Kailua. It shouldn’t go without saying that sharing a childhood home with so many people is a vulnerable thing to do, and we so sincerely appreciate you letting us in on the unimaginable beauty of this place. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, and wishing you both the best always.

P.S. Please let us know if you or yours are ever in Colorado — we’d be happy to show you around.

P.P.S. Lanikai was the perfect place to celebrate our two-year wedding anniversary. Thank you for helping us have a magical, unforgettable stay.

A cozy place to enjoy Lanikai, rain or shine

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Tree House with us for these 10 days in Lanikai. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay in such a special and peaceful place.

Even with the thunderstorms and rainy weather, we were able to have a wonderful time. Just as on our past visits, the Tree House was a cozy place to enjoy Lanikai, rain or shine!

We love the beauty, warmth and character of your home, and especially the wonderful feeling of being surrounded by nature. Thank you for opening your special Tree House to us. We are looking forward to the day we can come back — we sincerely hope it won’t be too long!

With much love, gratitude and warmest aloha.

Our 43rd anniversary in a piece of heaven

Once again, our anniversary (43rd!) vacation was amazing, thanks to you and your piece of heaven here in Lanikai. It’s not a destination; it’s a place filled with aloha and beauty that we love and respect. We take it home with us and hold on to it until we return.

Your special touches that make our stay so very comfortable are so appreciated. The fresh fruit, floral arrangements and authentic décor allow us to feel like kamaʻāina. Mahalo and much love.

Another beautiful visit to our happy place

We have few words to express our gratitude for another beautiful visit to our happy place. Although we were all a bit “atilt” this year, your hospitality and friendship are cherished more than you know — we truly feel the ʻohana on so many levels. God willing, a 2027 return is in order. Mary-Katharine may see you before then, as she is rueing the fact that she had to miss this visit. Stay tuned!

Coming full circle with Desi, Nani and Iwi was hands down the icing on the cake. There is always room for you all in Maine. Prayers, love, and deep, deep mahalo.

Our little slice of paradise

Thank you for once again opening your little slice of paradise to us. I’m glad we got an opportunity to hang out at “Biggie’s” old spot — a classic dive. Although the weather could have been better, we had fun exploring Kaʻena Point and the rustic gardens in Koko Crater. Have a great summer — see you next year, hopefully!

A completely joyful stay

I had the very best time staying in your lovely Tree House! It was a completely joyful stay — the beach, friends and hikes! But best of all was meeting you and the girls, and our last evening together. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I will be back! Get those bees! Thanks again.

We swam with a monk seal

Thank you for another spectacular stay in our tree home away from home. The highlight of this trip was a paddle out to the Mokuluas, where we swam with a monk seal. We’ll think of that every time we see the islands from your windows. Aloha, a hui hou — until we meet again.

Crossing the street to swim every day was rad

Mahalo! The five-night stay in the Tree House was great for us. How lovely to return to Lanikai after 11 years! The beach, surf, sun and rain showers were all welcome.

Other guests: consider hiking up to the Pillboxes behind you — super view. Crossing the street and swimming every day was RAD! A hui hou!

Our home away from home

Our stay is never long enough! The Tree House is truly our home away from home, and we love every minute of the Lanikai love we receive each time we come. Thank you for always making us feel so comfortable and cared for with all your special touches, sweet flower arrangements, and accessories to meet our needs before we even think of them. We can’t wait to return in June. All our love.

A birthday in such an amazing place

Thank you so much for welcoming us into your Lanikai Tree House. Even though it was a short stay, it was absolutely lovely! I will be forever grateful to have spent my birthday in such an amazing place — and it’s all thanks to you both.

Your home is so peaceful; it was a treat to wake up every morning to the sounds of nature, and the personal touches you have put into this place make it a gem. Lanikai Beach will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness! We’ll be back!

Truly our happy place

I really can’t express how fortunate we were to find you in 2003 and then get to know you in 2021. This is truly our “happy place,” and as Jim says, we will return until we can’t… brace yourselves!

Nini and Rick, you make hosting look easy, when Jim and I know it’s very hard work at times. Thank you profusely for sharing your world with us. With love, aloha and mahalo.

Completely at home

Dear wonderful Nini and Rick: I will spare you a ditty adapted from English to Hawaiian, but I will tell you how much we feel COMPLETELY at home in the Tree House. You go above and beyond with your special touches, for which we are so grateful. Thank you for embracing us — Jim, Susan and Liz — as fully as you always do.

Hoping to return in 2025 with Mary-Katharine and Blake in tow, as well as Susan, who definitely got bitten by the bug! Here’s to a great 2024 ahead. We will stay in touch! Thank you — mahalo. Love.
